American painter Ellen Berkenblit (b.1958) career started in 1984, with her first solo exhibition in Semaphore East, New York. Following this, Berkenblit enjoyed a career of numerous solo and group exhibitions across the world. Including Galerie Hubert Klocker, Vienna, Austria (1993) Berkenblit, Nares, Prince, Wool, Galleria Bonomo, Rome, Italy (1995); Toy Box, Miami, FL (2004); Ultra-Concentrated Joy, Ecstatic Drawings by Contemporary Artists, New York Academy of Art, New York, NY (2008). In 2013, she received an Arts and Letters grant from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. The following year she earned the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship. Berkenblit is collected by MoMA and the Museum of Modern Art Chicago. She lives and works in New York City.

The artwork will be safely stored, free of charge until Friday 17 December 2021. Alternatively, Freedom from Torture can help organise national and international delivery of artworks through a third party, to the winner. The winning bidder will be responsible for all delivery costs and will be invoiced directly by the third party.
