Bahamas based artist Florence St. George (b. 1985) is a contemporary artist who works with ceramics. Her designs are inspired by the sea and the natural world, and when she can she incorporates clay that she forages herself. Florence's love of ceramics started whilst completing her BA in Art History at Bristol. It wasn’t until she experienced post-natal depression in 2013 that she transitioned from theory to practice, and began working with clay. She found the process of throwing and sculpting clay both therapeutic and an effective way of channeling her creative urges. Her works shows her technical talent, as well as her ability to harness raw emotion into beautiful, sculptural ceramics. Her work has been featured on ITV during her time on The Great British Pottery Throwdown, at the Tern Gallery (2021), in The Times, Authority Magazine and on Sothebys.com
