Best known for The Andrew Marr Show, Andrew Marr is a distinguished journalist and television presenter. Born in Glasgow in 1950, Marr studied English and gained a first-class degree from Cambridge University. He began his career as a journalist at The Scotsman in 1981, before moving to London and becoming their political correspondent. Marr has worked at some of Britain’s biggest publications, including The Express, The Observer. He was a part of the team that launched The Independent and became its editor in 1996. In 2000, Marr moved into television and became the BBC’s Political editor. Since 2005 The Andrew Marr Show has been a staple in British politics, providing a platform for the country’s top politicians to make news, and share their thoughts with the British public. In his spare time, Marr cites his hobbies as painting, reading and cooking.

The artwork will be safely stored, free of charge until Friday 17 December 2021. Alternatively, Freedom from Torture can help organise national and international delivery of artworks through a third party, to the winner. The winning bidder will be responsible for all delivery costs and will be invoiced directly by the third party.
